New Canada Greener Homes Grant
Homeowners are now eligible to receive up to $5,600 for the implementation of eligible retrofits and EnerGuide evaluations. Review the information below to find out more about the program. If you have questions, Buchanan & Hall is here to help.
What kind of grants are available?
$5,000 – Install of a complete new Geothermal System
$3,000 – Replacement of an existing Geothermal System
$5,000 – Install of a new Air Source Heat Pump
How can you take advantage of the program?
Step 1: Learn about the Program
Check to make sure you’re eligible for the grant. Review all of the requirements and learn more about the process.
Step 2: Get a quote from Buchanan & Hall
Contact Buchanan & Hall for recommendations on equipment, design, and an EnerGuide evaluator.
Step 3: Register and Book your Pre-Retrofit Evaluation
Register online on the Greener Homes Grant portal.
Next, book your pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation. The evaluation is required before you undertake your retrofits and needs to be performed by an NRCan registered energy advisor.
Step 4: Plan, Document and Complete Retrofits
After your evaluation, review the recommendations. At that point, Buchanan & Hall can complete your heat pump installation.
Step 5: Book Your Post-Retrofit Evaluation and Apply for your Reimbursement
Once your installation is complete, you can start the reimbursement process. Book your post-retrofit evaluation, and submit all your required documents online or by mail.
Step 6: Get Your Money
After the program offices review your file, reimbursement is sent through. Grant totals are confirmed ahead of time through the Greener Homes portal.
