Ontario Home Energy Savings Program - up to $4375
The Government of Canada's ecoENERGY Retrofit Program is no longer accepting bookings for pre-retrofit evaluations. If you have already booked an appointment for a pre-retrofit evaluation, have completed an evaluation or applied for re-entry to the program, you remain eligible to apply for a grant of up to $8750 for a geothermal furnace. The program will continue to be administered until March 31, 2011. The Government of Canada will continue to process applications for the Ontario Home Energy Savings program that is already in place.
The government of Ontario will pay 50% (up to $150), for a Home Energy Audit that will explain your home’s energy use – attic to basement. Your audit provides a personalized Energy Efficiency Report and a plan that could allow you to reduce your energy bills significantly. You have 18 months to upgrade your furnace to a geothermal comfort system, as well as finish any other suggested upgrades. After your post-retrofit audit, the province of Ontario will rebate you $4375 for your geothermal furnace. You are eligible for a rebate of up to $5,000 if you choose to do further upgrades to your home. This program is will also continue only until March 31, 2011.
If you are wanting to take advantage of these programs, it is suggested that you go ahead with your furnace installation well before the cut off date of March 31, 2011. This will allow sufficient time for your application to be processed.
